Dr. Bassin is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Mark T. Birns, M.D., FACP, FACG Dr. Mark T. Birns graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and remained there to complete a three-year internal medicine residency program. Following his residency, he completed a two-year fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. He returned to the east coast as the Assistant Chief of Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, as well as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University and Health Sciences Medical School in Bethesda, Maryland. As a result of his continued academic pursuits and contributions to medicine, he was awarded the distinction of being named a Fellow in the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG). He maintains a teaching position at Georgetown University as Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. Washingtonian Magazine has acknowledged Dr. Birns as one of the "Top Doctors" in Gastroenterology three times.
Dr. Kevin Collier graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his medical residency training at the North Shore University Hospital/Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell University Medical Center in New York. This was followed by a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Collier is board certified in gastroenterology, as well as board certified in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
Robert Eisdorfer, M.D.
Dr. Eisdorfer is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He joined Dr. Schulman and Dr. Levin in 1991. Dr. Eisdorfer is on the active staff at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He is past Chairman of the Gastroenterology Division at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and current Executive Committee Member. Dr. Eisdorfer has twice been named to the Washingtonian Magazine's "Top Doctors" list.
E. Serrin Gantt, M.D. Dr. Serrin Gantt is a board certified gastroenterologist and internist, practicing the former in Montgomery County since 1991. She grew up in Montgomery County and attended Bethesda Elementary, Pyle Junior High School, Sidwell Friends School and Vassar College. Dr. Gantt received her medical degree and residency training in Internal Medicine from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She went to Yale University for a 2 year fellowship in Digestive Diseases, combining gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Gantt has served on the Board of Physicians Quality Assurance for four years and is on active staff at Montgomery General Hospital and Shady Grove Hospital.
Dr. Mark S. Gloger graduated from medical school at Georgetown University. He completed his medical residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Hospital System, followed by a two-year fellowship in gastroenterology at New York University. Following his fellowship, he pursed his interest in the treatment of liver disease and fined-tuned his therapeutic endoscopy skills as a faculty member of the Temple University School of Medicine and Medical College of Pennsylvania affiliated hospitals. Dr. Gloger is Board Certified in Gastroenterology, as well as Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He currently serves as Chairman of Gastroenterology at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Neil Julie graduated from Weill Medical College of Cornell. He then completed his medical residency at the University of California in San Francisco. This was followed by a two-year fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Dr. Julie is board certified in gastroenterology, as well as board certified in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Korenman is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. She served for eight years as a specialist in gastroenterology and hepatology at Kaiser Permanente prior to joining our practice in 1998.
Dr. Levin is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. She is the past Chair of the Gastroenterology Division at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and has served on the active staff at both Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Suburban Hospital. Dr. Levin has three times been named to Washingtonian Magazine's "Top Doctors" list.
Dr. Schulman is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Schulman is past Chairman of the Gastroenterology sub-section at Shady Grove Hospital, past Chairman of the Department of Medicine and past President of the Medical Staff also at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Dr. Schulman has four times been listed in the Washingtonian Magazine's "Top Doctors" list.
Dr. William Stern graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Following his residency at the George Washington Medical Center, he completed a two-year fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. He maintains a teaching position at George Washington University as Associate Clinical Professor of Gastroenterology. Dr. Stern is board certified in gastroenterology and in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Physicians, and is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Victor Witten received his medical degree, PhD., and training in gastroenterology from Vilnius University, Lithuania. He advanced his training in endoscopy at the Central Institute for Postgraduate Medical Doctors in Moscow, Russia. Upon coming to the United States in 1989, Dr. Witten completed his residency in internal medicine at the Georgetown University VA Medical Center. He was trained in clinical gastroenterology at the Washington Hospital Center and further advanced his therapeutic and interventional endoscopy skills at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and in Paris. Dr. Witten is board certified in gastroenterology and in internal medicine.
